Under the direction of the Software Development Regional Manager, you will write clean, maintainable, and efficient code based on specifications; develop applications, scripts, and modules for our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in cooperation with internal customers; and test and deploy applications and systems.

• Design and develop laboratory software architecture and LIMS while ensuring scalability, performance, and security of the software.
• Conduct thorough testing of applications to identify bugs and ensure quality, debugging and resolving technical issues.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed applications, including code, APIs, and system designs.
• Perform software updates and enhancements and monitor and maintain existing software applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, and participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback.
• Work with stakeholders to gather and understand user requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Propose and implement improvements to development processes and tools.

Full‑time | Hybrid (1 day in office) | Monday‑Friday 9 AM‑6 PM | Based in Portland, OR or DFW, TX

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of proven software development experience (laboratory or science environment preferred).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, React, Node.js, VBA, SQL, REST/SOAP, API, Groovy, Crystal Reports; and an understanding of Git and Git Lab.
• Experience with software development frameworks and tools, along with a strong understanding of development principles and design patterns.
• Knowledge in requirements analysis, customization and programming, testing and ticketing systems, and familiarity with database systems and web technologies.
