Secret-Cleared Embedded Linux Software Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Embedded Linux Software Engineer in Grand Prairie, TX for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Embedded Linux Software Engineer will design, develop, implement, and integrate embedded software supporting advanced missile programs. This role includes analyzing requirements, developing software architecture and detailed designs, implementing embedded C++ solutions, and integrating software with target hardware in support of missile subsystem and flight-testing activities.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 11+ years of relevant professional experience, or a master’s degree with 9+ years of relevant professional experience.

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance with the most recent investigation completed within the past five years.

• Proficiency in C++ programming.

• Knowledge of and experience with Embedded Linux.

• Experience deploying embedded software onto target hardware.

• Experience debugging and integrating embedded software on hardware.

• Experience analyzing software, system, and subsystem requirements.

• Experience developing embedded software architecture and detailed designs.

• Ability to interpret program needs and formulate effective technical solutions.

• Ability to communicate technical issues, recommendations, and solutions effectively to leadership.

• Ability to work full-time onsite in Grand Prairie, TX.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working as a software engineer with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Experience with Git Lab.

• Software integration and verification experience.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain embedded software for missile programs.

• Analyze program, system, subsystem, and software requirements.

• Develop embedded software architectures and detailed designs.

• Implement embedded software solutions using C++.

• Develop and integrate software in an Embedded Linux environment.

• Deploy embedded software onto target hardware platforms.

• Debug software, hardware, and software-to-hardware integration issues.

• Perform software integration and verification activities.

• Troubleshoot technical issues discovered during development, integration, and testing.

• Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, integration, and test engineering teams.

• Support missile subsystem testing and preparations for flight-test activities.

• Document technical designs, software behavior, test results, and issue resolutions.

• Communicate technical status, risks, and recommended solutions to engineering and program leadership.

$113.22 per hour.
