Delivery Driver

Overview

Delivery Drivers at Parts Authority, a leading national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools/equipment and transmissions, provide excellent customer service as company representatives. The company, founded in 1973 and headquartered in Long Island, New York, serves customers across many U.S. states.

The Delivery Driver will pick up and drop off automotive parts, adhere to assigned routes and time schedules, and ensure orders are properly fulfilled.

• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly and courteous manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness and correct charges.
• Follow directions from dispatcher, adhere to routes, use navigation apps and alternative routes as necessary.
• Assist with loading and unloading items without interfering with operations at customer’s place of business.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints professionally.
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Accept payments, prepare reports including invoices, return forms, reconcile debt and credit for deliveries.
• Complete daily maintenance checks on company delivery vehicle and report issues.
• Assist with any and all other store or warehouse duties (stock, parts pulling, etc.) as assigned.
• Maintain and promote workplace safety.
• Secure and transfer cash or other assets.

Minimum requirements:

• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Driver must be 21 years old or over to meet insurance requirements.
• Current valid automobile insurance with name on the policy.
• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (75 pounds for Auto Body Parts Collision Drivers).

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Manage, track and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances.
• Utilize a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking and customer interface/signature capture.
• Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills with tact and diplomacy.
• Take and follow directions; work well with others as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime as needed.
• Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.
