407 Line Pilot

Care Flite is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ambulance service sponsored by Baylor Scott & White Health, JPS Health Network, Methodist Health System, Parkland, and Texas Health Resources. Care Flite provides medical transport by helicopter, airplane, and ground ambulance, and non-medical transport via wheelchair van.

The primary duty of a Care Flite line pilot is to safely transport medical personnel and patients to and from the requested locations in Care Flite's Bell 407GX aircraft. In the performance of that mission, the line pilot assumes responsibility for ensuring that the aircraft is airworthy and that the aircraft is operated in compliance with all FAA regulations and Care Flite policies.

This position requires teamwork, a personal commitment to Care Flite's mission and core values, and the willingness to demonstrate those core values in all activities performed for Care Flite or while representing Care Flite. The incumbent(s) of this position are active participants in the organization and support the changes necessary for the organization's survival.

Care Flite Rotor Wing Pilots work a 7 on 7 off schedule with competitive pay, with time and a half for workover/overtime.

In its commitment to safety, Care Flite offers to each pilot:

  • Training every 6 months with Care Flite instructors
  • 1 hour of instrument proficiency each month
  • Training and qualification in ANVIS 9, White Phosphorus NVGs, (For all 407GX Pilots)
  • 2 Axis Autopilots (installed on all 407GX aircraft)

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  • Current ATP Rotorcraft required within 6 months of hire. (Care Flite Aircraft can be used for ATP Training/Checkride)
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
  • 2500 hours helicopter Total Time
  • 500 Turbine flight hours
  • 200 unaided night-flight hours
  • 2000 hours as Helicopter PIC
  • Current aircraft operated by Care Flite (after training).
