As an Ambassador for Airgas, the Service & Delivery Professional takes pride in the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to our local and regional business partners. Operating from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck, you will manage the flow of cylinders while building lasting relationships with the customers you visit.

As a Service & Delivery Professional at Airgas, you will be part of a supportive professional team that encourages your personal growth and internal mobility, while ensuring you have the work/life balance you need to thrive.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Cylinder Handling:
    Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
  • Record Keeping:
    Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
  • Warehouse Support:
    Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

A Day in the Life of an Airgas Delivery Driver

Required Qualifications
  • Valid TX Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications required.
  • We are looking for one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a commitment to road safety to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
  • We also welcome graduates with a diploma from an accredited driving school within the last 12 months OR a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
  • Candidates should be at least 21 years or older.
  • Proficiency in navigating and comprehending material safety data sheets.
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Ideally, you are comfortable operating vehicles with hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also part of our daily operations.
  • Availability to support the team with occasional overtime if necessary.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain collaborative safety credentials for customer site access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in operating heavy machinery (Forklift/Moffett).
