Job Overview

Material Handler – Converting Plant, Grand Prairie, TX. This position is for a 3/2 rotating night shift schedule: 7pm–7am on Sun/Wed/Thurs;
Mon/Tues/Fri/Sat.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate material handling equipment (stand‑up and sit‑down forklifts) safely and efficiently.
  • Perform daily safety inspections of lift equipment and complete required documentation.
  • Load and unload trucks according to shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Store and retrieve pallets within the plant, documenting inventory locations using handheld electronic devices.
  • Stage materials at equipment locations according to production schedules.
  • Move and manage Work‑in‑Process (WIP) pallets between machine locations and rack storage.
  • Maintain organized storage areas and implement proper rack numbering systems.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and maintain accurate records.
  • Complete all required safety documentation, checklists, and logs.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards through 5S practices, including removal of empty pallets and waste management.
  • Participate actively in Printpack’s Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Work in a safe manner in all assigned duties.
Education & Experience
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Experience in manufacturing or warehousing environment a plus.
Required Skills
  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to read and understand production schedules.
  • Mathematical skills for inventory counting.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
  • Understanding of safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.
  • Basic problem‑solving skills.
  • Team‑oriented mindset.
  • Time management abilities.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must pass pre‑employment assessment, drug screening, and background check.
  • Must have forklift or pallet jack certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses).
  • Must have a performer or higher rating in last review.
  • Must demonstrate core values.
  • Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues.

Physical Demands
  • Lifting and handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, walking, frequent bending, twisting, and reaching for 8–12 hour shifts.
  • Operating in variable temperature conditions.
  • Exposure to moving machinery, noise levels above 85dB, solvents, fumes, and inks.
  • Use of ladders and other equipment.
Work Conditions
  • Manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, chemicals, and variable temperatures.
  • Flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Additional $2.50/hr premium for night shift hours.
