  • As a Logistics Supervisor, you are expected to maintain Grand Prairie’s Core Values in all communications with employees, visitors, and outside service providers.
Role

The purpose of the Logistics Supervisor is to oversee the logistics functions at your assigned facility, to organize and monitor the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received by or sent through your assigned site.

Responsibilities
  • Coach, develop, and lead logistics/warehouse team members
  • Analyze data and prioritize work assignments to direct the daily actions for the shifts and/or functional area
  • Ensure their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations
  • Develop and implement material flow strategies and processes to eliminate waste and increase productivity
  • Monitor the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensure materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensure receiving reports accurately report material received
  • Oversee the supplying of materials to production and stage materials accordingly
  • Ensure materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with allergen and safety procedures
  • Monitor and measure receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy of location, receiving reporting, movement and storage of material, and transfers to service parts
  • Maintain Lot Code integrity, FIFO, allergens, and proper identification of all part numbers
  • Ensure that Cycle Counts are completed monthly and maintain 97% accuracy or better
  • Participate in safety programming and lead warehouse/logistics training
  • Lead ERP within logistics/warehouse staff, including training and competencies
  • Ensure compliance with SQF programs
  • Provides forklift and/or pallet jack training and ensures that all operators are following proper procedures
Education & Training Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience
  • Have a valid driver license to be insurable through GPF insurance
  • Basic math comprehension for inventory purposes
Work Experience Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control and/or materials management in a manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Driving Powered Industrial Truck experience
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
  • Exposure to variation in temperature, including work for prolong periods in a freezer environment
  • Some periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to travel to other locations to assist in logistics functions
  • Operate Powered Industrial Trucks throughout warehouse and freezers
