Job description:

The Senior Audit Accountant will report directly to the Audit Manager and will be responsible for assisting with financial statement, program, and internal audits of the organization.

The selected individual will be a key point of contact with various external auditors.

This role's primary responsibilities are to collect and review requested information, provide account analyses, and assist with audit resolution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works to understand the internal financial reporting needs of the organization and transform the delivery of financial information utilizing self
• service dashboards, reports, and queries to the extent practical.
• Assist with all school financial statement, compliance, and fiscal program audits.
• Prepare school annual financial statements and related footnotes for financial statement audits.
• Identifies opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and consistency through system solutions.
• Perform research of various accounting and government compliance topics.
• Able to balance a complex working environment and manage priorities effectively based on business needs.
• Assist with various month end close responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required, including an understanding of how to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain macros.
• Strong analytical skills, finely tuned attention to detail, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
• - Strong written and verbal communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Governmental and/ or Not-for-Profit Accounting and Federal Grant compliance requirements is preferred.

Education/License Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience is preferred.
