Grand Valley Medical Specialists (GVMS) is a well-established, physician-owned private practice that has been proudly serving the Grand Rapids community since the 1930s. Our team includes 14 internal medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine physicians, along with 5 advanced practice providers, all working together to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our patients. As a locally rooted practice, we value teamwork, accountability, and the personal connections we build with our patients and each other.
PositionResponsibilities
- Process, review, and accurately enter invoices for payment
- Verify invoices for proper documentation, approvals, and coding
- Prepare and process vendor payments in a timely manner
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and account questions
- Monitor recurring expenses and service agreements
- Assist with month-end financial processes and reporting
- Support practice leadership with expense tracking and financial documentation
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and patient information
- Previous experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or office accounting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow through on tasks
- Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with vendors and team members
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and accounting software
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with medical practice operations, vendors, and healthcare-related expenses
- Experience with electronic accounting or practice management systems
