Finance and Business Associate

Axios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a forward-thinking financial services firm based in Grand Rapids, MI, seeking a Finance & Business Associate to join their team. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, adaptable as the firm grows, and bring a genuine interest in working with owner-managed businesses and nonprofits.

• Support day-to-day financial administration across a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and nonprofits
• Assist with bookkeeping, transaction review, reconciliations, and basic financial reporting
• Help prepare client-facing financial summaries and materials under team guidance
• Serve as a responsive, professional point of contact for client questions and follow-ups

• Learn and work within Quick Books Online, Karbon, and other firm tools
• Embrace AI and automation tools as part of how the firm works
• Help identify opportunities to improve workflows, save time, and reduce manual effort
• Stay curious about new tools and bring ideas to the team

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
• 1+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration
• Familiarity with Quick Books Online
• Experience in a client-facing or multi-client environment preferred
• Team-first attitude
• Strong communication skills with a clear, responsive, and professional approach
• Comfortable with change and adapting to a growing environment
• Passion for learning and a growth mindset
• Genuine enthusiasm for technology and openness to AI tools, automation, and new platforms
