Accounting Clerk

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join a team in Grand Rapids, Michigan on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position supports day-to-day accounting activities by helping keep financial records accurate, payments processed correctly, and transactions properly documented. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with detailed financial information, and able to contribute across both accounting and administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile bank activity on a daily and monthly basis to ensure account balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Record and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with careful attention to timing, coding, and completeness.
• Review invoices and payment details, verify banking information, and process financial transactions with accuracy.
• Monitor account activity for irregularities, research questionable items, and escalate potential fraud concerns when needed.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and update accounting records to support accurate reporting and audit readiness.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to the accounting team, including routine reporting and data entry tasks.
• Assist with tracking outstanding payments and supporting follow-up efforts to help maintain healthy cash flow.
• Use accounting systems and spreadsheets to enter, review, and manage financial data efficiently.
