Auto-Wares Group of Companies is seeking a talented and ambitious person to work as the General Accountant. The general accountant is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling balance sheet accounts, reviewing month end financials for reasonableness, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes and annual audit, essentially overseeing the day-to-day financial recordkeeping of a company.
Key responsibilities of a general accountant include:
Data entry and posting:
Recording financial transactions into the general ledger by posting journal entries for revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.
Account reconciliation:
Verifying the accuracy of financial records by reconciling bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable and all Balance Sheet balances.
Month-end closing:
Performing necessary accounting procedures to finalize financial records at the end of each month.
Process Definitions and Improvements:
Digging into current processes to determine more efficient ways to do business. Writing or editing Standard Operating Procedures.
Auditing support:
Providing documentation and assistance to external auditors during financial audits.
Analysis and reporting:
Analyzing financial data to identify trends and provide insights to management.
Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance3+ years of General Accounting experience
Dependable individual with excellent attendance
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Acumatica, Power BI, Excel)
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
