The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closes, annual global and statutory audits, resolving issues by pro-actively reaching out and working with various departments, preparing journal entries for complex transactions, completing reconciliations of challenging balance sheet accounts, and reviewing reconciliations completed by Staff Accountants. This position is expected to independently drive financial projects to their conclusion, identify changes needed to improve internal controls, and support the consolidation process for 30 legal entities.
This role will also be expected to support the operations teams and integration efforts of acquired companies.
- Complete assigned month-end close activities by their due dates including journal entries and account reconciliations or analysis of results.
- Prepare/finalize accounts for assigned operating and holding company subsidiaries.
- Variance analysis and determining the business reasons driving them.
- Analyze Balance Sheet and Income Statement Accounts.
- Support compliance efforts including global/statutory audits and tax return report preparation.
- Generate and maintain Microsoft Excel models/spreadsheets, reconciliations or other reports.
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow analysis, contract review, and drive special project as needed.
- Provide guidance and direction to staff accountants as needed.
- Complete inventory analysis, reserve calculations, in-transit validations and month end / physical inventory reconciliations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3-5 years of public accounting experience within service-oriented industries.
- Proven business and operational knowledge.
- Ability to develop processes, recommend and implement process changes and improvement in internal controls.
- Must have the ability to drive complex projects or issues to conclusion (independently).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the accounting cycle.
- Track record of meeting deadlines.
- Hands on experience with Microsoft D365FO
or Microsoft Dynamics. - Prior experience with data analysis, financial analysis, financial reporting, general ledger systems, month-end close, statutory and tax compliance, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with mergers/acquisitions and integrations, foreign currency and intercompany eliminations is desirable.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- CPA certification is preferred.
