General SummaryProvides administrative and budgetary support for the supervisor and the department.
Major Duties- Uses word-processing and spreadsheet software to produce and edit letters, memos, reports, statistical tables and other documents.
- Answers non-routine questions regarding the department. Refers questions as needed.
- Explains departmental policies and procedures.
- Monitors, tracks and reconciles a budget(s). Prepare budget reports and may recommend allocations.
- Maintains a database: verifies, updates, and enters data.
- Schedules appointments and coordinates meetings; makes travel arrangements.
- Monitors and orders departmental supplies.
- Typically, engages in some office management and/or project work.
- May provide guidance and direction to student employees.
- May update the content of the department’s website.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year’s relevant experience.
- Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet software.
- Experience with query databases and budget entry and tracking.
- Experience providing guidance to student employees.
