Position Overview
The Corporate Practice Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to attorneys and clients within the Corporate practice group. This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive professional who excels at multitasking, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates a strong grasp of ongoing legal transactions. The successful candidate will support designated attorneys while also contributing to a team-based legal support structure.
A thorough onboarding and training program will be provided to ensure familiarity with firm systems and the substantive legal areas relevant to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Document Preparation: Draft, revise, and finalize legal documents including contracts, memoranda, and correspondence. Prepare detailed electronic and hard copy closing binders and indexes for various complex corporate transactions. Ensure all documents meet internal formatting and quality standards.
- Administrative Support: Liaise with internal departments including Records, Ethics, Accounting, Central Services, Reception, and Conference Center teams to support client and attorney needs. Manage travel arrangements, maintain Outlook calendars, and support meeting coordination.
- File Maintenance: Create and manage well-organized paper and electronic files in accordance with firm policies.
- Client Service & Collaboration: Provide high-level client service while fostering strong professional relationships with attorneys, clients, and colleagues. Prioritize and balance team and individual responsibilities in a collaborative environment.
- Professional Demeanor: Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. Apply sound judgment and attention to detail in executing complex and sometimes billable administrative tasks.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience in a legal or corporate administrative role is preferred, though not required.
- Strong digital proficiency and a willingness to adapt to evolving technologies.
- Excellent multitasking, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, critical thinking, and a high level of accountability.
