Job Responsibilities

The mission of the Kent County Friend of the Court is to serve the Court and the families of Kent County to ensure children are supported, both financially and emotionally. We enforce child support, custody and parenting time, monitor accounts, and prepare recommendations for the Court regarding custody, parenting time, and child support.

The person selected for this position, located in our enforcement unit, will process and mail a high volume of documents, including various correspondence and court orders. The person in this position will also be involved in court processes, preparing paperwork for court, checking in parents at court, and will work in multiple databases and computer programs, perform statistical record keeping, and participate in other clerical functions in the office.

We are looking for someone who handles pressure well, completes work within deadlines, maintains objectivity and confidentiality, possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrates the ability to provide customer service to a wide range of individuals.

High school graduate or GED and one year of clerical experience. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

Requires skill in filing, maintaining office records, understanding complex processes, and the ability to protect confidential information. Must be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in MiCSES, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and OnBase applications. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of customers from different backgrounds are essential.
