POSITION PAY RANGE:$13.73
TARGET HIRING RANGE:Actual pay offered will be commensurate with candidate qualifications and experience, the type of role, pay equity and available funding.
SUMMARYAs a part of the Center for Campus Life (CCL), a Campus Life Assistant will assist in the oversight of our front desk and serve as the point person for those entering the CCL. The individual would answer and direct phone calls appropriately on behalf of all members of the CCL team, and/or assisting any student, staff, or faculty member that comes to the office for support.
The student would serve as a source of general information to other students on topics and questions related to all departments within the Center for Campus Life. Specifically, the Student Life Assistant will support the Student Life team to identify the needs and interests of the student population in order to provide a wide range of quality engagement opportunities. The Student Life Assistant will be a resource for students interested in Registered Student Organizations and programming.
- Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Must be enrolled at least half time (6 credits undergrad and 3 credits grad) at Davenport University.
- Must be meeting Standards of Academic Progress (SAP).
- Must be work study eligible.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform well in the area of customer service, especially in a high traffic and busy environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, develop goals, meet deadlines, and accomplish goals while prioritizing workloads.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner.
- Must be able to work an irregular schedule, evenings or Saturday as needed, additional hours during peak times or as required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences; communicating to university customers with positive attitudes toward change, confidentiality, and conflict resolution.
- Must be highly motivated and solution-oriented with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the university.
- Business office environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain).
