Specification Manager - GMNA Sales & Order Planning

Job Description The Role

The Specification Manager - GMNA Sales & Order Planning ensures accurate vehicle specification tables and smooth order flow for new model years and Manufacturing Validation Builds (MVB). You will own key elements of the weekly Dealer Order Submission Process (DOSP), including specification, order, constraint, and allocation activities. You will work across Marketing, Sales, Product, Launch, and Order Fulfillment teams to keep orders accurate, constraints optimized, and launch milestones on track.

Your work will support clean order flow, capacity utilization, and timely issue resolution across the enterprise.

• Build and maintain accurate vehicle configuration and specification tables that support order processing and align with approved marketing intent.
• Execute specification changes through the formal Spec Change process in line with Blockpoint timing and cross-functional needs.
• Own the Startup Program Management Calendar, provide visibility into startup and launch milestones, and track execution to due dates.
• Represent Order Fulfillment in cross-functional launch meetings, sharing data, insights, and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Create and maintain pattern orders for Retail and Company Vehicle Operations (CVO) to support clean order flow and capacity utilization.
• Analyze and calculate weekly and longer-term constraints, validate assumptions with stakeholders, and help optimize usage.
• Manage weekly vehicle allocations, production constraints, and funding to support efficient order fulfillment and production planning.
• Monitor and resolve vehicle order processing issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions to improve order accuracy and prevent recurrence.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Product, Launch, and Order Fulfillment teams to resolve specification, constraint, allocation, and order issues.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years' experience with vehicle operations, order management, production planning, or related fields.
• Experience working with complex systems and datasets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to collaborate and influence across functions.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly and succinctly in oral and written communication.
• Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivation and persistence when working through obstacles to achieve stretch objectives.
• Product knowledge of vehicle lines.
• Knowledge of VOM and POMS systems.
• Experience with Logical Language and VDS.
• Field Sales or Marketing experience.
• Broad understanding of enterprise operations and how Order Fulfillment impacts downstream functions.
• Demonstrated operational agility, adaptability, and leadership.

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}.
