Our integrated healthcare model—including medical, vision, dental, behavioral, and spiritual care services are provided to our community, promoting wellness for all.

Position Summary

The Lead Dentist reports to the Clinical Director and assists in the development, oversight, and promotion of dental services to patients. They will have their own panel of patients to serve, as well as working closely with our volunteer hygienists and dentists to provide dental services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with specialty oral health professionals in the community for referral of Exalta Health patients
  • Assist in organization of clinic related to equipment, supplies, and instruments
  • Supervising staff and volunteer hygienists and dentists
  • Participate in quality improvement and outcome evaluation practices
  • Contribute to the performance reviews of dental staff and volunteers
  • Assist in the development and implementation of patient care policies
  • Assist with reviewing incidents that occur in the clinic to ensure safe delivery of care
  • After hours call-coverage and triage of dental emergencies
  • Provide skilled and compassionate dental care to patients
  • Document patient care in the electronic dental record following organization’s standards and expectations
Qualifications
  • Possess a valid Michigan dental license and other credentials required by law.
  • Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to facilitate the performance of health care workers.
  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary team environment preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is helpful
