Project Architect Essential Skills
- Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in architectural design.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in Revit for design and documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Micro Station for production and coordination.
- Experience developing building designs, obtaining site plan approvals, and producing fully integrated construction documents.
- Experience in construction documentation, bidding assistance, and construction administration.
- Demonstrated skills in architectural design and project management.
- Strong aptitude for design, construction detailing, and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and project teams.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and manage project teams.
- Strong work ethic and a high level of professional responsibility.
Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred:
Architectural license, or being within approximately one year of achieving licensure. - Experience using Sketch Up for conceptual and 3D design visualization.
- Experience working on retail or similar project types.
- Experience working on projects across multiple regions or states.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a niche market and adapt to unique client needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to a collaborative, family-oriented team culture.
The Project Architect leads the design and delivery of complex architectural projects from concept through construction. This role requires strong knowledge of building systems, including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, as well as proven experience in developing building designs, obtaining site plan approvals, and producing fully integrated construction documents. The Project Architect collaborates closely with clients, guides project teams, and ensures high-quality, well-coordinated outcomes with a strong focus on detail, communication, and leadership.
JobType & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.27 - $55.29/hr.
