About the Position
We are seeking a Locums
Medical Hematology/Oncology Physician to provide coverage at an established outpatient
cancer center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This opportunity offers a balanced mix
of outpatient clinic work with shared call responsibilities, supported by a
multidisciplinary oncology team.

Position Details

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Practice Setting:
Outpatient Cancer Center

Patient Population:
Adult & Geriatric

Trauma Level:
Level II

Call

Schedule:

If part of call pool:
Monday–Sunday

Weekday evening telephone call

Weekend inpatient rounding with APP
support

Call Ratio:
1 in 5

Clinical Focus

Practice mix is approximately 60%
Hematology / 40% Oncology

Primary focus:
Lung Cancer

Secondary focus:
General/benign
hematology for patients not assigned to specialty physicians

Current team includes subspecialists in Breast,
GI, GU, Neuro, and Lung Oncology (at a different location)

Patient Volume

Outpatient Clinic:

8–16 patients per day

7–8 hours of scheduled patient
appointment time

Hospital Call/Rounding:

Average combined census of 22 patients
across two hospitals

Approximately 4–5 new patients

Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage oncology and
hematology patients in the outpatient setting

Perform FNA/Biopsy procedures

Participate in Tumor Board meetings

Order diagnostic tests and imaging

Prescribe medications and develop
treatment plans

Provide inpatient rounding and
consultative support while on call

Requirements

Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible
in Medical Oncology

Active Michigan medical license (or
willingness to obtain)

BLS certification
