Pay: $16–$18 per hour
Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
The Learning Experience – Cascade is seeking a dependable and caring Preschool Assistant Teacher to support our preschool classroom during the afternoon and closing hours. Our center provides a nurturing, structured daycare and preschool environment where children feel safe, supported, and engaged through the end of their day.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with preschool-aged children and thrives in a team-oriented early childhood setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Lead Preschool Teacher in maintaining a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom
- Assist with daily routines including learning centers, transitions, meals, rest time, and end-of-day activities
- Engage children in play-based learning, early literacy, art, music, and hands‑on activities
- Support positive behavior guidance and social‑emotional development
- Help prepare the classroom for closing, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Communicate positively with families during pick‑up and through daily updates
- Follow all health, safety, and Michigan childcare licensing requirements
- Collaborate with teachers and leadership to ensure smooth classroom operations during closing hours
- High school diploma or GED required
- Preschool, daycare, or childcare experience preferred
- CDA or early childhood coursework a plus, not required
- Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
- CPR and First Aid preferred or willingness to obtain
- Reliable, patient, and comfortable working a consistent closing shift
