Part‑time position: 8:00 am – 11:00 am, Monday – Friday

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education

SUMMARY

This person will plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional activities that facilitate active learning.
  • Develop scopes of work, curriculum maps, lesson plans and assessments that are in alignment with Indiana State standards.
  • Establish and communicate clear learning objectives for all learning activities.
  • Implement a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing an effective classroom management plan.
  • Maintain an organized classroom.
  • Demonstrate content knowledge and deliver content that is factually correct.
  • Adjust lessons accordingly to accommodate for varied learning styles and cognitive abilities.
  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary procedures of the school.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on student learning to both students and families in a timely manner.
  • Utilize assessment data to plan lessons and appropriate and timely interventions for personalized student learning.
  • Maintain a grading system aligned to student learning and update Student Information System with complete records of student data.
  • Prepare required grade reports for students.
  • Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain formation for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and respond to emails.
  • Display commitment to the education of all students.
  • Complete duties as assigned by the building principal.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
  • Follow attendance, punctuality, and other qualities of an appropriate work ethic.
  • Ensure adherence to proper safety standards.
  • Model and maintain high ethical standards.
  • Keep the building principal informed of potential problems or student concerns.
  • Use effective, positive interpersonal communication skills to work as an effective team member.
  • Participate in training programs offered to increase skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in school, corporation, and parent meetings.
  • Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school/workplace matters.
  • Demonstrate support for the school corporation and its goals and priorities.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
