Title:

Administrative Assistant, Director of Curriculum

Reports To:

Director of Curriculum and Professional Development

Takes Direction From:

Director of Curriculum and Professional Development

Schedule/Calendar:

7.5 hrs./day 37.5 hrs./week 261 days/year

Summary:

Manages multiple subject content areas, district professional development and curriculum, district funded summer school programs, and federal program budgets including development of a financial plan and purchases for a budget over $5 million. Supports federal programs for Title III including compliance paperwork and audit support. Supports the work of curriculum assessment with midterms, final exams, and curriculum assessments of unit and end of year tests.

Manages elementary student teacher and field placement processes. Interfaces with colleges regarding student teacher placements. Supports the curriculum development process, the textbook inventory process, which includes purchasing and removing textbooks, and interfaces with SDC. Supports committee work and professional development programs through pull out process, room reservations, communications, and arrangements. Manages communication for content area committees, curriculum committees, and professional development committees.

Directly supports in-service day programs, flex programs and after school meetings. Manages p-card purchases. Manages records for compliance, monitoring, and audits. Supports Title III opt out program. Manages all district communication that needs to be translated. Manages district transperfect account. Supports the hearing and deaf interpreter needs through management of budget and communications with companies. Manages and processes all district curriculum and district funded professional development contracts.

Essential Functions:
  • Supports the implementation of district-wide curriculum development and programs
  • Supports the management of district curricular documents
  • Coordinates development and maintenance of district curriculum management system
  • Facilitates coordination of curriculum in-service days, after school, and summer programs
Assessment Responsibilities:
  • Supports the implementation and management of all aspects of district assessment program, including benchmark, diagnostic, curriculum-based, and final examinations
  • Supports the coordination of district-wide assessment testing materials through the ordering, distribution, and collection of materials for processing
  • Maintains organization of all district-wide assessments
Professional Development Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates district-wide professional development programs in support of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • Supports the facilitation of in-service day programs including rooms, schedules, arrangements, payments, communications, etc
Budget Responsibilities:
  • Maintains current account balances and records for any budgets directly under the management of the Director of Curriculum and Professional Development
  • Creates all requisitions for district-wide purchases made for Federal Programs (Title I, Title II, and Title III grants) as well as the curriculum and assessment budget lines
  • Facilitates development of district-wide budgets for Federal Programs, curriculum and assessment budgets
Secretarial Responsibilities:
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Education and/or Certification

Required:
  • Associate's Degree preferred
