Faculty members are responsible to GRCC and to each other for the successful completion of departmental work, as well as associated with the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and GRCC as a whole. In addition to the major position responsibilities, it is expected that faculty demonstrate outstanding communication skills, collaborate effectively, use personal initiative to overcome obstacles and work efficiently to meet deadlines, and be committed to the ongoing systemic changes needed to ensure the increased recruitment, inclusion, retention, and completion of traditional populations, non-traditional populations, and historically underserved populations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Teach corequisite and standalone courses (ranging from algebra to differential equations, including math for liberal arts, math for elementary educators, and statistics) to a diverse student population.
* Develop and implement teaching methods that employ interactive learning, integrate current instructional technology, and demonstrate a commitment to a student-centered environment.
* Foster an equity-minded learning environment which advances inclusion, reduces equity gaps, and promotes diversity and belonging for all students.
* Participate fully as a member of the Mathematics Department in such activities as curriculum development, assessment, evaluation and revision of courses, committee membership, textbook selection, community outreach, and department meetings.
* Engage in professional development activities and maintain expertise in the field of mathematics and the teaching of mathematics.
* Advise students on curriculum and academic programs and contribute to student success and retention efforts to support inclusion, recruitment, retention, and completion.
* Support the growth and development of the Department and College through other work normally expected of faculty members.
* Opportunity to support mathematics courses at all GRCC locations, including the Lakeshore Campus and Middle College/Concurrent Enrollment sites.
* Adhere to the standards and requirements expressed in the Faculty Contract.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Educational Credentials
* Master's degree in Mathematics, Master's degree in Mathematics Education with at least 18 hours of graduate work in Pure/Applied Mathematics, or Master's degree in a closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate work in Mathematics or closely related coursework.
Work Experience
* A minimum of one-year full-time teaching experience in Mathematics at the college or university level required; the equivalent part-time or adjunct teaching time may be considered as having met the minimum.
* Two or more years full-time teaching experience in Mathematics at the college or university level.
* Experience teaching Mathematics at a community college.
* Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying academic skills.
* Experience designing and implementing student-centered learning approaches that encourage participation.
Skills
* Strong Content Mastery - Broad and deep knowledge of undergraduate mathematics, with the ability to connect concepts across topics to support student understanding.
* Pedagogical Skills - Ability to teach complex content clearly, adapt instruction to diverse learners, and facilitate active learning.
* Communication Skills - Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty in written and oral forms.
* Technology Skills - Ability to use instructional technology and learning management systems to support mathematics instruction.
* Collegiality - Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a departmental and college-wide setting.
