Student Services Coordinator
Central Kelloggsville Elementary (3rd-5th Grade) 2026-27 School Year 8 Hrs Day/40 Hrs Week [Monday-Friday]
Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, the student services coordinator is responsible for working as a team member to assist with students in the special education classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives. This person will also have a role in certain non-instructional and concept/skill reinforcement tasks and providing students the opportunity for additional adult/student relationships.
Education/
Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent; 60 credit hours in an accredited university of college or an Associates Degree preferred;
Experience working with early elementary students with special needs preferred;
Bilingual skills helpful.
Duties/Skills/
Qualifications:
Ability to assist the teacher in the instruction to students of academic, social, and motor skills;
Assist with organization of daily classroom schedule and activities;
Implements rules of student conduct and specific program expectations;
Assists students with problem solving when adjustment and academic needs arise;
Assists with providing feedback and monitors the classroom when students are working;
Ability to assist the teacher with classroom activities outside of classroom instruction;
Demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality;
High level of communication and organizational skills;
All other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher and administrator;
Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community;
Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others;
Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District;
Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
