Lead Career Center Event Coordinator
Lead event processes and logistics for Career Center programming, connecting over 1,000 employer partners with GVSU faculty, staff, and learners to support University career and first destination outcomes.
Salary & Benefits:
Minimum starting salary of $48,000, commensurate with experience. Limited benefits package including medical, life insurance, wellness resources and tuition waiver effective on date of hire.
Primary Duties:
- Coordinate two large scale career fairs, overseeing logistical needs, approving employer registrations, tracking payment and ensuring timely communication.
- Collaborate with Career Center staff to oversee industry specific fairs and networking events.
- Facilitate and manage employer visits to GVSU, including on-campus interviews, employer tabling activities, and networking events.
- Work with the Career Center team to set an annual calendar of recruitment activities and career workshops; ensure timely submission of event details by staff members (including input into university calendars); reserve rooms, order audio-visual equipment and catering, and assist with hosting functions.
- Engage existing and prospective employers in interfacing with GVSU students, alumni, faculty, and administration through recommending participation in targeted career events and recruitment activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge
Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in event planning, marketing, and records management.
- Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRMs and/or equivalent.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully coordinate large projects.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully handle multiple demands efficiently.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully organize and prioritize workload.
- Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.
