At ACCD we strive to provide a structured educational curriculum paired with a fun, caring environment.
A Lead Teacher is passionate about enriching the minds of young children and perceptive to their needs and emotions.
Responsibilities- Maintaining a safe and constructive learning environment
- Creating and implementing developmentally-appropriate lesson plans
- Assessing children’s needs and development
- Using positive classroom behavior management
- Following Michigan Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Supervising teacher assistants and volunteers in the classroom
- Having open, positive communication with the director, staff, families and the community
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be 18 years or older
- Love working with children 12 months to 12 years
- Able to work varied shifts
- Pass TB test, fingerprinting, and background check
- Have, or willing to obtain, CPR training
- Exhibit sincere interest in working with children (e.g., babysitting, high school classes in child development)
