Summary of Position:
The College of Engineering Technology invites applications for a 3-year, 9-month lecturer, full-time faculty position in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. Position requires teaching undergraduate-level lecture and laboratory coursework in a "hands-on" academic environment at our Grand Rapids, Michigan, location. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan by the first day of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
Primarily evening classes in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with the possibility of teaching at the Big Rapids, Michigan, campus as well. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest. The selected candidate for this position must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without employer assistance or sponsorship now or in the future.
The university will not assist with any F1 EAD's, OPT, H1B, etc.

Education:
The standard to teach college credit courses at the associate degree level (1XX, 2XX) shall be the bachelor's (or higher) degree in field or closely related area. The standard to teach college credit courses at the baccalaureate level (3XX, 4XX) shall be the master's degree in field or closely related area or a master's degree and 18 graduate hours in field.
The standard to teach college credit courses at the graduate level shall be a terminal degree in field or closely related area; or a practice terminal qualification as defined by the college faculty qualification guideline.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Meet with the courses at their scheduled times. Required to teach evenings, off-campus, or online. Grade all course content and student work for assigned courses. Maintain communication with students. Maintain professional currency. Act as liaison between the program and professional organizations. Directly responsible to the School Chair. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities, which may include, but are not limited to, regularly scheduled office hours (at times convenient for students) and participation in traditional academic functions (e.g., reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time).
Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or online. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with university policies and applicable laws. Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty, and staff to thrive authentically. Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
