Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Project Architect to lead and manage the creation of comprehensive and buildable project documents. The role requires translating design intent into technical success, identifying and addressing code issues, managing graphic communication, and overseeing the development of technical specifications. The successful candidate will also manage team efforts, coordinate with consultants, and engage in construction administration activities.

Responsibilities

* Take ownership of project drawings and translate design intent into buildable documents.

* Oversee and deliver technical success for each project.

* Identify code issues and develop strategies for drawings, determining what to draw and what not to draw.

* Ensure clarity, legibility, and hierarchy in graphic communication, and develop appropriate details and material selections.

* Manage the delivery of technical specifications and information.

* Oversee the drawing efforts of team members.

* Coordinate consultant drawings with architectural designs for an integrated and well-coordinated set of drawings.

* Review submittals and shop drawings, respond to contractor inquiries, visit project sites, and coordinate issue resolutions.

Essential Skills

* Proficiency in Revit, Sketch Up, and Adobe Suite.

* Ability to plan and manage construction documents.

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.

* 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in K-12, Healthcare, or High-End Residential projects.

* Experience in project management and construction administration.

* Strong communication and team management skills.

Work Environment

The position is based in a building in downtown Grand Rapids, with two floors dedicated to the production team and studio leads, and another for HR and event hosting. The work schedule is Monday to Thursday in-office, with Fridays being remote-first.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $48.08/hr.
