At Van Aire, our Engineering and Technology is driven by innovation and teamwork. We seek a Software Integration Manufacturing Engineer to join our talented team in Gladstone, Michigan.

This role is perfect for someone who’s dedicated to advancing mechanical design through parametric modeling, smart automation, and close collaboration across teams. It offers a unique mix of hands-on engineering and process improvement, where you’ll help shape how our products are designed, built, and delivered—making the entire process faster, more precise, and more efficient for everyone involved.

WHAT WE OFFER:
  • $45,000 to $70,000 annual starting pay based on experience along with an aggressive, milestone-based wage structure where a self-driven individual will be rewarded.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INCLUDE:

Mechanical Design

  • Designing 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using Solid Works.
  • Making sure designs meet our high standards, manufacturing requirements, and customer needs.

Design Automation

  • Creating smart, parametric models that adapt to different product specs.
  • Automating repetitive tasks and improving speed without losing accuracy.
  • Developing templates and design rules to simplify custom product creation.
  • Working closely with our sales, design, and manufacturing teams.
  • Helping integrate CAD tools with our internal software.
  • Supporting connections between our design tools and business systems (like ERP & CRM).

Process Improvement

  • Analyzing how we work today and finding smart ways to improve.
  • Document processes, create training materials, and support adoption of automation tools across the team.
  • Driving change and innovation from the ground up.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience in this field required.
  • Strong skills in 3D CAD software as it relates to parts, assemblies and drawings is required;
    Solid Works preferred.
  • A solid understanding of parametric, rules-based design.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, materials, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:

  • Drive Works (configurators, automation templates, design rules) or other design automation tools.
  • ERP/CRM system integrations.
  • Creating user guides, technical documentation or training content.
  • Experience with reporting tools or methods for monitoring software automation performance.
