Our client has partnered with our recruitment firm to identify an Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing optimization, facility planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role plays a key part in designing efficient manufacturing cells, improving material flow, and driving Lean Manufacturing principles across the operation.

The Industrial Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to standardize processes, optimize layouts, perform capacity studies, and ensure manufacturing operations are positioned to meet both current demand and long-term business growth. Scope and responsibility will vary by experience level, with opportunities for increased project ownership and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement optimized manufacturing cell layouts
    , ensuring efficient material flow from inbound through production and outbound processes.
  • Analyze resource requirements, equipment capabilities, throughput rates, and ergonomic considerations to establish optimal production methods.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
    , including standardization of routings, process documentation, material usage, and throughput metrics.
  • Maintain and improve manufacturing databases to ensure accurate and consistent process data.
  • Support facility planning and plant layout development
    , including space optimization and long-term capacity planning.
  • Conduct capacity and throughput studies to assess the plant’s ability to meet customer demand and multi-year business plans.
  • Develop detailed layouts and implementation plans to maximize efficiency while minimizing space and operating costs.
  • Manage assigned projects by establishing timelines, monitoring costs, and ensuring objectives are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and, at senior levels, work direction or supervision to other engineers or staff.
  • Perform additional duties in support of overall business objectives.
Experience Levels & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Foundational knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
    , workstation design, process flow, and industrial engineering principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to influence decisions and support project execution.

(In addition to Level I qualifications)

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial engineering or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience supporting or leading moderately complex improvement and layout projects.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

(In addition to Levels I & II qualifications)

  • 8+ years of progressive engineering or project/program management experience with full technical mastery of the discipline.
  • Broad familiarity with manufacturing technologies, processes, equipment, and production systems.
  • Proven leadership experience managing complex, long-term improvement programs and successful project launches.
  • Ability to operate independently with significant autonomy and strategic responsibility.
  • Experience managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, including financial oversight.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders and maintain productive cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, recommend, and lead implementation of new materials, processes, and manufacturing methods.
  • Experience mentoring, training, and leading others toward departmental and business goals.
