As a Mechanical Engineer II, you are a licensed Professional Engineer with strong career ambition and a proven ability to translate complex mechanical systems into high-performing building solutions. You collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to design mechanical systems that balance technical excellence, budget, and schedule. Through strong planning, prioritization, and client focus, you help deliver integrated environments that perform.
Deliver Results- Develop mechanical system designs including load analysis, equipment sizing, ductwork sizing, hydronic systems, plumbing, and fire suppression systems aligned with Progressive standards.
- Coordinate mechanical design efforts through schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
- Produce detailed building models, construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents that are technically sound and fee-aligned.
- Collaborate with internal disciplines, consultants, contractors, and governing agencies to ensure code compliance and eliminate document conflicts.
- Lead and participate in project meetings, site visits, agency reviews, and Lessons Learned sessions as an active team contributor.
- Monitor scope, schedule, and budget performance in partnership with the Senior Mechanical Engineer and recommend corrective strategies when necessary.
- Integrate addenda, RFIs, change proposals, and change orders into project documentation while maintaining quality control standards.
- Utilize design technologies including Revit, AutoCAD, BSD Speclink, and emerging tools to optimize presentation and production efficiency.
- Support proposal development and contribute to financial stewardship by aligning documentation with scope, schedule, and fee structure.
- Foster strong internal and external client relationships through technical confidence, responsiveness, and accountability.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program (or equivalent education and experience qualifying for licensure).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with current licensure required. NCEES registration and NSPE membership preferred. CSI-CDT certification preferred (training provided). LEED AP BD+C and/or WELL AP preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience across a variety of project types, including complex assignments.
- Demonstrated experience independently performing load analysis, equipment sizing, ductwork sizing, and hydronic system design.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering standards, regulations, and documentation processes, including researching and incorporating code requirements into technical documents.
- Proven experience producing construction drawings and specifications and executing QA/QC processes.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, designers, consultants, construction administrators, authorities having jurisdiction, and contractors.
- Strong capability managing multiple complex projects while maintaining deadlines and client service excellence.
- Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required; experience with Project, SharePoint, and Teams preferred.
