As a Healthcare Electrical Engineer II, you will take a leadership role in building the Healthcare practice, designing and developing electrical systems, and translating concepts into final solutions for healthcare and research building types as part of a multi-disciplinary project team. You will influence project direction and outcomes by guiding the design and development of documentation and supervising project implementation in the field.

Responsibilities
  • Provide extensive expertise in electrical design, including code compliance, specifications, system integration, and constructability.
  • Work cross-functionally to define project scope and budget, provide quality assurance, conduct work sessions and meetings, troubleshoot issues, prepare project documentation, and coordinate other technical components.
  • Ensure the overall design intent of the project, as established by the Performance Based Design process, is reflected in detailed documentation.
  • Attend site visits to resolve field issues such as unforeseen conditions, code issues, and interpretation of construction documents.
  • Coordinate the work of the electrical design team through schematic design, development, and construction document phases; review reports, submittals, drawings, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
  • Prepare building models, detailed contract documents, construction documents, photometric simulations, arc flash studies, and specifications consistent with Progressive AE’s standards; promote effective use of design software and technology.
  • Mentor, train, and direct the work of less experienced staff.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent experience for licensure.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with current license OR ability to obtain PE.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience across diverse project types.
  • Strong knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Experience in Arc Flash Studies using suitable software.
  • Proficiency in Elum Tools or Visual Lighting Software and Easy Power.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • CSI-CDT certification.
  • LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP certification.
  • Membership in professional organizations (e.g., ASHE, HEALS) and local chapters.
  • NCEES registration and NSPE membership.
  • Experience reporting/presenting at conferences, publishing white papers, and demonstrating thought leadership.
