Our team is partnered with an engineering firm in the Grand Rapids area seeking a Civil Engineer / Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support land development and infrastructure projects from planning and design through permitting and construction support. This opportunity offers exposure to a variety of civil projects with a collaborative engineering team focused on delivering high-quality solutions.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in land development, site design, drainage, utilities, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
, looking to continue building technical expertise while contributing to project execution.
Target Compensation: $80,000-$95,000+ with flexibility based on experience
* Candidates with more specialized or advanced backgrounds may be considered above this range.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 3+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably supporting land development or infrastructure projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Understanding of grading, drainage, utility design, and site development principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Prepare engineering drawings, plans, and specifications for civil engineering projects including site development, roadways, drainage, and utilities
- Develop detailed designs and layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Analyze survey information, zoning requirements, utility records, and regulatory codes to support project planning
- Assist with engineering calculations, technical reports, permitting packages, and design documentation
- Review engineering plans and specifications for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain organized project records, revisions, and documentation
Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to support approvals and permitting processes - Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and occasional site visits
