Position SummaryAs a Quality Engineer at Transcendia, you will serve as a key change agent on our manufacturing floor at two Grand Rapids sites – 2500 Oak Industrial Drive and 2555 Oak Industrial Drive. You won’t just maintain our QMS — you will actively partner with Operations and Engineering to drive continuous improvement, minimize process risk, and ensure the absolute reliability of custom materials used in critical, high-stakes applications.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with manufacturing and engineering to develop, implement, maintain and improve quality standards and methods to ensure product quality within manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with and mentor cross-functional team members through the root-cause analysis process, continuous improvement process, and supporting a culture of quality.
- Lead investigations in response to quality nonconformances and manage timely corrective and preventive actions in alignment with quality system requirements.
- Analyze quality data and key performance indicators, identify trends, and initiate actions to address emerging product or process risks.
- Plan and execute test method validations.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or a related technical field. - Minimum 2 years of experience in quality or engineering within a regulated industry.
- Experience managing nonconformance investigations and corrective action activities in a regulated quality system.
- Experience supporting manufacturing process improvements in a regulated environment.
- Experience applying risk management and statistical process control methods in manufacturing environments.
- Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures and Test Methods.
- Experience managing Test Method validations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and Microsoft Office, with strong data analysis skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional interaction with internal teams, customers, and external vendors.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering production areas.
