Overview
Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation is a leading provider of intelligent material handling systems. The company designs, manufactures, integrates, and installs a full spectrum of intralogistics solutions backed by round-the-clock service and support.
RoleDesign highly automated material handling projects and solutions across multiple engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Controls, Structural, ASRS and Robotics.
Responsibilities- Review/influence large, automated project proposals/concepts ahead of project sales
- Coordinate and influence all engineering disciplines towards best-in-class solutions for large automated systems
- Participate, when appropriate, in the project design cycle as an individual contributor
- Setup/facilitate project design reviews with all stakeholders to ensure deliverables are suitable for construction, meet customer expectations, safety standards, and budgetary constraints
- Research and understand design regulations and codes to ensure system design satisfies requirements
- Present and manage customer deliverables to provide the best high-performance system while maintaining budget and schedule commitments
- Engage with third-party equipment manufacturers to develop RFPs aligned with project requirements; review progress and coordinate with project teams to meet goals
- Create detailed engineering schedules for multiple disciplines to track milestones
- Monitor project schedules, engineering deliverables, and material costs
- Occasionally travel to project sites to review facilities, monitor progress, deploy engineering solutions, and support customer acceptance
- Participate in continuous improvement projects by providing meaningful feedback regarding products and internal processes
- Resolve engineering issues by collaborating with customers, vendors, and team members
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience with large/complex intralogistics projects
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks) preferred and/or Solid Works proficiency
- Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
