Bluewater Hayes is partnering with a leading manufacturer to identify a Product Engineer to join its engineering team. This role will focus on supporting existing products through design improvements, cost-reduction initiatives, quality enhancements, supplier development, and cross-functional engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support product improvement, value engineering, and cost-reduction initiatives across multiple product lines.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to improve product performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Investigate customer and production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and evaluate design changes for existing products using sound engineering principles.
  • Perform material selection, component evaluations, and manufacturing process analysis.
  • Create and review engineering drawings, tolerance stack-ups, and FMEAs.
  • Develop test plans, coordinate product testing, and analyze results to support engineering decisions.
  • Assist with supplier qualification efforts and the approval of alternate sources of supply.
  • Support manufacturing operations through quality notifications, deviations, and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, product design, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with product improvement, sustaining engineering, value engineering, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
