Land Surveyor – Geospatial Data Services

ResponsibilitiesAssist with field surveys across multiple project types, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys; support data reduction, digital terrain modeling, and surface creation; prepare right‑of‑way plats, certified survey maps, and boundary survey documents; contribute to drafting and survey computations; collaborate with project teams while maintaining the ability to work independently in the field; travel as needed to support project demands.
- Assist with field surveys across multiple project types, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
- Support data reduction, digital terrain modeling, and surface creation.
- Prepare right‑of‑way plats, certified survey maps, boundary surveys, and other survey‑related documents.
- Assist with drafting and survey computations.
- Collaborate with project teams while maintaining the ability to work independently in the field.
- Travel as needed to support project demands.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as project schedules require.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors for 8–12 hours in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel for projects, meetings, and overnight stays as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with basic surveying procedures, including boundary and land surveys; topographic surveys; construction staking methods using Total Stations and GPS.
- Experience with drafting, survey computations, and interpreting plans and easement descriptions.
- Field experience using Trimble survey equipment.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must reside or be willing to relocate to Grand Rapids, MN.
- Position requires a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check verifying a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets the company’s Driving Program requirements.
Base compensation range: $54,000 – $75,000, depending on skill set and experience. SEH offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid family leave, flexible holidays, work‑life balance supports, and opportunities for continued education and certification.
