Summary
Responsible for the design and development of new industrial pump products, components, and assemblies from conception to commercialization. This may include responsibilities for specification development, risk identification/mitigation and development of products using engineering principles that meet customer specifications as well as cost requirements. Effectively lead projects through engineering portion of new product development process to meet development timelines. Mentor and review work of more junior product design engineers and CAD designers.
Solve design related problems on released product as required.
Bachelor's degree (BS Mechanical Engineering) from four‑year ABET accredited college or university; and 5+ years operating as a design engineer in a manufacturing company. Rotating equipment and hydraulic design experience a plus. FEA and CFD experience a plus.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer SkillsComputer design (3D modeling and assembly), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics a plus.
