Responsibilities
- Develop and define concepts and manufacturing processes for all new product introductions and product enhancement programs using advanced engineering techniques such as DFM/DFA, FMEA, 3P, 7-Ways, and Lean Six Sigma Methodology.
- Assume responsibility for capital planning, CER creation and approvals, capital project timing and implementation, and capital spending and budgeting.
- Assume responsibility for plant VA/VE savings.
- Ensure all equipment meets OSHA‑compliant safety regulations.
- Drive engineering principles and discipline through mentoring, training and project reviews including PFMEA, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Dynamic Control Plans (DCP), Lean tools, project management and simultaneous engineering.
- Leverage Lean philosophy to troubleshoot production process issues and develop improvements.
- Support Lean initiatives such as RIEs, JDIs, 9‑Step Problem Solving, and other initiatives as required.
- Manage, develop and improve manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set‑ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle times.
- Create manufacturing process routings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED and one or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work positively in a team environment.
- Self‑motivated and willing to change priorities as needed.
- Willingness to participate in continuous learning opportunities for personal and job development.
- Experience with CAD processes (preferred).
- Familiarity with Lean philosophy.
- Knowledgeable in utilizing computer systems (e.g., Email, Internet, Microsoft Word Suite, MRP).
- Ability to quickly assess manufacturing issues related to design and tolerancing.
- Knowledge of basic design and manufacturing datum development and its effect on manufacturing processes.
- Experience using Apriso, Windchill, and MDP to support manufacturing and product data processes.
Hourly base pay: $24.78. Compensation type: hourly. Incentive eligible: no. Sales commission eligible: no.
