We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting the development, build, and commissioning of an advanced automated final assembly system. This is a hands-on role working on cutting-edge manufacturing automation technology, including robotics, vision systems, motion control, and PLC programming.

The successful candidate will play a key role in offline programming, machine debugging, system integration, and installation activities at a customer facility in Michigan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and support control systems for automated assembly equipment.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI platforms.
  • Configure and support FANUC robotic systems.
  • Debug and commission automated equipment during build and installation phases.
  • Work closely with project leads, mechanical engineers, and integration teams.
  • Support customer site installation and startup activities.
  • Ensure systems meet performance, quality, and safety requirements.
Technology Environment
  • FANUC Robotics
  • Servo gantry systems
  • Pneumatic controls
  • IR heater controls
Required Experience
  • 3+ years of Controls Engineering experience within industrial automation or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming experience.
  • Hands-on experience with FANUC robots.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting controls and robotic systems on the shop floor.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with project leadership and engineering teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience commissioning automated assembly cells.
  • Exposure to vision systems and motion control applications.
Working Hours
  • Expect 45-50 hours per week initially.
  • Hours may increase to approximately 60 hours per week during installation and commissioning phases.
