For more than 15 years, our manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids has helped the growth and success of GE Aerospace. We produce high‑quality electronics and avionics parts and equipment to exacting standards. Products include Avionics Computing Systems, Mission Systems, Navigation and Guidance, and Vehicle Health and Data Management systems.

As an Electrical Analyzer & Tester you will use your thorough understanding of analog, digital, and microprocessor circuits to fault‑isolate electronic avionics products at the component or board level. Once a fault is isolated you will prescribe rework instructions for repairs.

The typical working hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Roles and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Electronic Analyzer & Tester is to ensure that military and commercial avionics products meet their specifications satisfactorily. Responsibilities include administering standardized functional and environmental tests and troubleshooting from a system level down to component level.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Understand and follow test specifications and procedures.
  • Ensure product compliance and quality.
  • Troubleshoot electronics systems, circuit card assemblies, and components.
  • Prescribe rework instructions for products requiring repair.
  • Maintain product test records in the quality data tracking system.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Associate degree in an electronics technology discipline from an accredited university or college OR High School Diploma / GED with at least two years of technical experience in testing and troubleshooting highly technical electronic products, which may include military electronics experience (e.g., A‑level technician).
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status.
Eligibility Requirement
  • Must be able and willing to complete and pass a pre‑employment electronic principles test covering subjects such as component identification and digital and analog circuit analysis.
  • May encounter high‑risk or hazardous operations and/or work beyond a standard workweek. A minimum age of 18 at the time of joining is required.
Desired Characteristics
  • Possess a thorough understanding of analog and digital circuits.
  • Experienced with general‑purpose test instruments such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, phase‑angle voltmeters, and automated test equipment.
  • Ability to fault‑isolate electronics to the component level.
  • Experience in functional testing and environmental stress screening of Class 3 electronics systems.
  • Ability to follow technical procedures and specifications.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation such as schematic diagrams and parts lists.
  • Experience using hand tools for electronics disassembly and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of IPC 610 & J-STD soldering specifications.
  • Basic understanding of embedded software.
  • Familiarity with electric static discharge precautions.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision as a self‑starter.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and PDF viewers.

This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
