Project Engineer​/Senior Designer

Overview

Our client is seeking a Land Development Project Engineer / Sr. Designer to join their team. Bachelor’s Degree (preferred but not required). Minimum 3 years of design experience on land development projects. Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience (Required). Grand Rapids, MI or Rochester Hills, MI area.

• Involved in the preparation of project drawings, calculations, and specifications, and will direct others on these items.
• Prepares engineering analysis, design, calculations, and reports.
• Evaluates land use and zoning requirements and is familiar with zoning ordinances and site plan approval processes.
• Prepares permit applications and is responsible for working through agency review processes and obtaining approvals.
• Makes occasional site visits during the construction phase of the work to assess progress and quality of construction.
• Works with dynamic design teams, including the owner/developer, architects, landscape architects, engineering trades, and contractors.
• Provides mentorship and training for junior staff.

• Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred but not required)
• Minimum 3 years of design experience on land development projects
• Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience (Required)
• K-12 site design experience (Preferred but not required)
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and Office 360 products (Excel, Word, etc.)

• Individuals must be willing to work in an office environment
• Attend client meetings and travel by car and/or plane if the project requires it
• Perform project site visits
