Lead Structural Engineer
The Lead Structural Engineer oversees the design and delivery of complex building projects, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with industry standards. This role involves leading the development of detailed models and drawings in AutoCAD and Revit, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, and providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. The engineer conducts on-site assessments, monitors construction activities, and resolves field issues to maintain quality and schedule.
Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for coordinating with architects, clients, and project teams to achieve successful outcomes.
- Oversee the design and delivery of complex building projects.
- Ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Lead the development of detailed models and drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Review shop drawings and submittals.
- Provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct on-site assessments and monitor construction activities.
- Resolve field issues to maintain quality and schedule.
- Coordinate with architects, clients, and project teams.
- Experience leading a team
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- PE (Professional Engineer) license
- Expertise in structural engineering, structural design, and structural analysis
- Knowledge of concrete and steel design
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in civil engineering
- Familiarity with structural steel and concrete design
The position is based in a new office space in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. The environment offers the opportunity to start up and lead a structural team for a well-known Midwest firm. Collaboration with other structural partners is encouraged, with partners located in Columbus.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 - $55.00/hr.
