Internship Program
The Progressive Companies Summer Internship Program is a paid, full-time experience designed to launch your career. You'll take part in hands-on client projects, sharpen your problem-solving and communication skills, and gain a front-row seat to the world of architecture, design, engineering, and construction. Structural Engineering InternAs a Structural Engineering Intern, you will work collaboratively with project managers and structural engineers to perform structural analysis and design and modeling assignments for a variety of building types, sizes, and materials. Typical work includes preparing project work ranging from conceptual design to final construction documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, and RAM software.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the project team to help meet project schedules and budgets.
- Manage multiple projects in a timely, accurate manner, monitoring progress against project scope and available resources.
- Provide drafting services and final engineering documents consistent with Progressive's standards.
- Assist in designing task and modeling assignments for a variety of building types, sizes, and materials.
- Perform structural analysis consistent with Progressive's standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and architects to understand changes to project design, scope, schedule, and budget.
- Use design and analysis software, including Revit, AutoCAD, RAM, and RISA, for presentation and production purposes.
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in an EAC/ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor's degree program with a focus on structures (master's degree enrollment preferred).
- At least two years of undergraduate studies completed by Summer 2027.
- Previous Revit experience strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of sustainability and other trends in the design/construction industry.
- Strong math, analytical, design and problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate well.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook required. Experience in Project, SharePoint, and Teams preferred
