Mechanical Estimator – Data Centre Projects Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join our team, specializing in Data Centre projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate estimation of mechanical systems, contributing to the successful delivery of complex and high-value projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical estimating, proficiency in tools such as Accubid and Bluebeam, and a solid understanding of Project Controls.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems in data centre projects.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
  • Utilize software tools such as Accubid and Bluebeam to develop and manage estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope and budget.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data to improve the accuracy of future estimates.
  • Provide support during the bidding process, including responding to client inquiries and preparing bid submissions.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, ensuring alignment with initial estimates and budgets.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator, preferably in data centre or similar high-tech environments.
  • Proficiency in Accubid and Bluebeam software.
  • Strong understanding of Project Controls and cost management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field are preferred.
Day-to-Day
  • Review and analyze project documentation to prepare accurate mechanical cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and client expectations.
  • Utilize software tools to create, manage, and refine cost estimates.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide insights and updates on cost-related matters.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope or conditions.
  • Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.
