OverviewThe Accounting Manager is responsible for executing the organization’s accounting operations and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. This role manages day-to-day accounting functions, executes the month-end close process, maintains internal controls, assists with forecasting, financial analysis, audits, annual budgets, and process improvements. The position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership skills, and attention to detail.

Accounting Operations
- Execute general ledger activities, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset reviews
- Update and report the weekly cash flow forecast to company leadership and parent company controller
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and cash management functions
- Review balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and automation initiatives
- Participate in financial analysis and reporting projects as necessary
- Provide any necessary and requested financial reporting to parent company
Asset Management
- Oversee equipment inventory management system
- Manage inventory audits and coordinate with operations.
- Manage fleet fuel program and coordinate/communicate with appropriate teams
Finance | Analysis and Reporting
- Execute the monthly and annual close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
- Assist in preparing financial reports for management and ownership
- Provide financial analysis and insights to leadership to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies
Internal Controls | Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulations
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Support internal control documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Human Resources and Operations
- Collaborate with Operations and Leadership to develop and implement annual and monthly budgets
- Act as a key liaison to external auditors, vendors and service providers
- Provide support to the President on special projects and strategic initiatives
- Spearheading strategies to steer the company’s future in a positive direction.
- Oversight and implementation of projects and process development and implementation
- Collaborating with leadership to build an environment of collective responsibility and accountability.
- Ensuring downstream team members have the tools and resources required to be effective and successful
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
* with 2 years’ comparable experience in expectations outlined above. - OR 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with Quick Books
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with audits and internal controls
- Strong ethical leadership and development abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make projections three to five years into the future.
- Process development and implementation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to pass federal background check
- Hybrid position, requirement to work 2 days in office.
