Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing accounting or plant finance or external auditing firm, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial reporting
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and financial compliance
- Experience working cross functionally to establish budgets and collaborate across teams and promoting financial discipline and diligence.
- Experience with forecasting and variance analysis.
- Experience in cash forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital optimization(preferred)
- Previous experience closely partnering with founders or c-suite executives to inform and guide company decisions.
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting as well ascompliance with company policies and GAAP.
- Identify and analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast.
Provide actionable insights to management for corrective actions when needed. - Oversee the calculation and analysis of product standard costs including, labor, overhead, and materials. Analyze production costs, variances, and inventory valuations.
- Manage capital and tooling planning, ROI analysis, and post-project financial audits.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports, KPIs, and dashboards to support plant operations and decision-making.
- Strategic Planning & Analysis:
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with FP&A manager and plant management to develop realistic financial plans and monitor performance to plan. Includes,
- Bi-weekly monthly outlook
- Annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts
- Cap Ex Outlook
- Profit Plan & 5 Year Plan (including CBU accrual for contractual / non-contractual savings)
- Maintain cash forecasting models to ensure the plant's liquidity needs are metas well as compliance with financial covenants. Monitor cash flow patterns and working capital to optimize cash position.
- Oversee the timely renewal of all corporate and health insurance policies. Prepare the company's insurance-related budget, ensuring that the costs are accurately forecasted and controlled.
- Monitor insurance-related expenses, including premiums and claims, and propose cost-saving initiatives when applicable.
- Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Maintain a strong system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.
- Champion the accounting side of PLEX (ERP system) and ADP (Payroll System),working with IT andHRto ensureaccurateand efficient data flow.
- Collaborate with tax professionals and ensure compliance with federal,stateand local tax regulations, including sales tax and property tax filings.
- Support the annual audit process and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GAAP).Ensure implementation of any agreed upon recommendations, resulting from audit findings.
- Leadership andTeamManagement:
- Supervise finance team including FP&A manager, accounts receivable, accounts payable and senior staff accountant
- Continue to develop and evolve the finance department and team with an infrastructure that will support growth and align departmental goals with company goals.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, production, procurement, and HR to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Manage external relationships with bankers, CPAs, vendors, auditors, etc
