Commercial Middle Market Team Leader II
This role oversees a number of Relationship Managers to ensure adherence to corporate policy, provides credit and underwriting review, and supports cross‑selling efforts within the Commercial Middle Market team.
General FunctionOversees Relationship Managers to ensure adherence to corporate policy, provides credit and underwriting review as well as over‑limit credit approval, and supports and directs cross‑selling efforts. Commercial Middle Market Team Leaders solicit participations in the public debt issuance of their clients, limited to those with “investment grade” credit ratings. Responsible for risk management, ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience, and achieving results within the bank’s risk appetite.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Manage the sales process in a specific geographic marketing area.
- Maintain primary relationship contact for a portfolio of existing customers.
- Identify and facilitate the cross‑selling effort of all the bank’s services.
- Ensure the overall relationship is managed to the highest profit potential for the bank.
- Identify and facilitate businesses that do not maintain their primary banking relationship with Fifth Third, moving the primary relationship to the bank.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Meet or exceed goals stated in the compensation plan document.
- Monitor information concerning customer performance, abilities, and industry to determine loan risk.
- Ensure proper reporting, documentation, and review to determine loan risk.
- Participate in community affairs and projects to promote the bank’s image.
Provides timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback; develops employees to their fullest potential and offers challenging opportunities that enhance career growth; identifies appropriate talent pool to ensure bench strength and succession planning; recognises and rewards employee accomplishments.
Minimum Knowledge,Skills And Abilities
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires 9+ years experience in credit training and underwriting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, demonstrated sales and negotiating experience.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
The base salary for this position reflects the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
